Apple Ginza Apple store opened in 2003 and its building will be demolished in September 2022. Apple Ginza store was first opened on November 30, 2003. Its sayegusa building in Tokyo was briefly closed due to bomb threat in 2015.

Now, according to the report of Japan property central, the whole 8-storey building will be demolished, and a new 10 storey office and retail space will be replaced, starting from the end of 2024.

Apple ginza is also one of the places Tim Cook visited during his 2019 trip to Japan. The store is close to the Yamano music building and is said to be the most expensive land in Japan. According to the Japan real estate center, its value in 2022 is equivalent to $39000 per square foot. It is reported that the land value of the whole area is now 258% higher than that of the year before the opening of Apple Ginza.

Apple Ginza store is still open every day. Although its website page only lists the opening hours as of May 12, it is unclear whether Apple will relocate the store back to the new building after the new building is completed.

Apple operates nine other stores in Japan, four of which are in Tokyo.
