Liu Yang, female, Han nationality, born in October, 1978 in Linzhou, Henan Province, started work in August, 1997 and joined the Communist Party of China in May, 2001. In 1997, Liu Yang graduated from Zhengzhou No. 11 middle school and joined the army. He was admitted to the Changchun Flight Academy of the air force with a high score of 31 points higher than the admission line of local key colleges in that year. He became a female pilot and was one of the first female pilots recruited by the air force in Henan since the founding of the people's Republic of China. On the afternoon of June 15, 2012, the China Manned Space Engineering Headquarters announced that male astronauts jinghaipeng, Liu Wang and female astronaut Liu Yang would form a flight crew to carry out the shenzhou-9 and Tiangong-1 manned rendezvous and docking missions. Liu Yang mainly monitors and supports manual rendezvous and docking.
