Intel has confirmed that it has delayed the supply of arc alchemist mobile GPU outside some Asian markets. The company also promised earlier that it would provide a driver update to add some UI switching options to the arc GPU, allowing users to control and release the full potential performance of their arc graphics card, because Intel has added specific benchmark optimization to the arc driver through windows DCH driver version 30.0.101.1325.

The optimized driver should have been launched before the end of April, but this obviously didn't happen because the latest arc driver version 30.0.101.1330 was released on April 8.

Intel shared this information in a community blog post written by Lisa Pearce, the company's director of graphics software engineering.

We are at Intel today The driver version released on COM includes specific optimizations of these benchmarks, so that we can show all the functions of our new arc graphics products. For example, on time spy, we see that when implementing a specific benchmark optimization, the impact is about 15%, depending on the specific Intel arc graphics SKU. We inform UL that these benchmark optimizations will be enabled in our initial version, and in order to be consistent with UL's benchmark guidelines, our drivers will not become UL approved drivers for the time being.

By the end of April, we will add a user interface option that allows users to turn these benchmark optimizations on or off. This allows anyone to see the potential of top-level Intel arc hardware for fully optimized workloads, as well as general benchmark performance. When the switch is in place and benchmark optimization is disabled by default, the driver will be eligible for UL approval.

Although some people may say that since arc has not been launched globally, the delayed April drive will not affect many users, we can't ignore the Asian market because arc based laptops have begun to sell.

According to a recent report, Intel's arc alchemist desktop GPU will not be cheaper than its competitors AMD and NVIDIA. If we consider the obvious delay, the new arc GPU may find it difficult to compete with AMD and NVIDIA products, because it is not far from the arrival of the next generation of graphics cards of the red and green giants.
