Instagram announced on Tuesday that it will provide users with the ability to anchor up to three posts (including photos or reels) at the top of its profile grid The company said the new feature will give creators more flexibility to express themselves in their personal data. Prior to its official launch, instagram confirmed to techcrunch in April that it was testing this feature. Starting from Tuesday, the function of fixed posts will be launched to all users worldwide.

Users can browse specific photos or reels, click the three points in the upper right corner, and select "fix on your data" to fix the post. Once you do this, the post will appear at the top of the user's profile grid.

"Your profile is your space, so we are looking for more ways to let you control this experience," said Adam mosseri, the head of instagram, in a video about new features posted on his social channel.

For users who want to highlight their favorite posts, it is a popular feature to fix specific posts on their personal data. These posts may be buried somewhere in the photo grid. This feature is also useful for creators who post frequently but want to highlight a particular post. Currently, users can choose to anchor stories to their profile, but this new feature extends this ability to posts.

Although users can highlight a post in stories before, and then fix the stories on their profile, this new feature makes the process easier and more direct. It is worth noting that this new function is similar to Twitter's "fix to your profile" function and tiktok's "pinned videos" option, which allows you to fix the content to the top of your profile.
