Apple engineers announced that IOS 15.5 will reintroduce the Apple Music API so that third-party music players can adjust the playback speed of songs in the app Joe Kun, a software engineer on the apple music team, released the update to developers earlier this week.

In IOS 15.4, Apple Removed the API used by the third-party Apple music player, which allows users to change the playback speed of songs. The apple music application itself does not allow users to change the playback speed, but popular app store applications such as perfect tempo provide users with this ability. For some unknown reason, apple removed the API in IOS 15.4, but with the upcoming IOS 15.5 (currently under test), Apple will add the feature again.

Kun said:

Hello.

We reassessed our previous decision to prohibit changing the playback rate of Apple Music subscriptions in third-party applications. We concluded that we can safely enable this feature again, just as before the release of IOS 15.4.

Therefore, this problem has been fixed in IOS 15.5 beta 4.

I hope it helps.
