FAW's first dual motor hybrid special transmission has officially achieved mass production. It is understood that FAW Hongqi initiated the development of the first dual motor DHT (dedicated hybrid transmission) since 2019. The first product adopts a series parallel hybrid configuration, which integrates the functions of deceleration, acceleration and differential, and can realize all hybrid working modes of the whole vehicle, such as pure electric drive, series drive, parallel drive, and direct engine drive.

The maximum input speed of the product is 15000r/min, the output torque is 3200nm, the maximum transmission efficiency is 98.6%, the direct drive mode switching response time is less than 350ms, and the NVH performance is excellent.

What is the concept of transmission efficiency up to 98.6%? For comparison, MT manual transmission is the mainstream transmission at present, and the transmission efficiency is greater than or equal to 96%; Dry double clutch, transmission efficiency 90%~95%; Wet double clutch, transmission efficiency 86%~92%; At automatic, 82%~90% and CVT stepless, 80%~88%.

With the highest transmission efficiency of 98.6%, it can be said that the transmission efficiency of FAW's first dual motor hybrid special transmission is in the leading position in the industry .

According to the official introduction, it took only 30 months for FAW to complete 24 types of bench tests and 10 types of vehicle tests from the initiation of the first dual motor DHT transmission project to the start of mass production. The cumulative bench verification duration exceeded 6000 hours and the equivalent verification mileage exceeded 5million km .

It is worth mentioning that the new generation of Hongqi H5 may take the lead in carrying this gearbox. It is reported that the new car provides three power versions of 1.5T, 2.0T and 1.5T HEV, and it is expected to be officially launched in the second half of this year.
