Although the world has become more and more data-oriented, a new global study shows that enterprises are increasingly faced with the problem of how to obtain the right data in the right place when making key business decisions The study, conducted by dimensional Research for fivetran, a data integration expert, found that 82% of companies are making decisions based on outdated information

85% of companies believe that this leads to wrong decisions and loss of revenue. In addition, 86% of respondents said that their enterprises need to obtain real-time ERP data to make informed business decisions, but only 23% of enterprises have corresponding systems to achieve this goal. Almost all (99%) said they were trying to get consistent access to the information stored in ERP systems.

Overall, 65% of respondents said it was difficult to access ERP data, and 78% believed that software suppliers deliberately made it so. Respondents said that poor access to ERP data directly affected their business, resulting in slow operation, wrong decision-making and loss of revenue.

"If companies want to be truly data-driven, they can't make decisions based on only a small amount of information or outdated business data," said George Fraser, CEO of fivetran. "The success of data requires looking at the freshest and most complete data set possible. Successful companies are those that have the flexibility to get the latest data and use it immediately."
