Last month, Nintendo's U.S. branch was included in a workers' rights complaint with employment company Aston Carter, when a worker claimed that their legally protected trade union rights had been violated. Nintendo responded, saying the worker was "a contract worker who was previously dismissed for divulging confidential information" and then there were more allegations about the working conditions of Nintendo contract workers**

Recently, Stephen totillo, author of Axios gaming, shared the story of a former contract worker in Nintendo America.

A former contract worker named ash, who works in a customer service center, talked about being intimidated by the company when he wanted to take time to attend his family's funeral in difficult times of life.

"He worked at Nintendo's customer service center for several years until 2015. Strict leave rules for contract workers and limited access to full-time work increased the pressure on contract workers to be dismissed at any time. He said the pressure even exacerbated his heart disease. Ash said that when his grandfather died, his fantasy was disillusioned: 'I was told that if I went to his funeral, I'll find him when I came back I can't work anymore. '"

According to reports, Nintendo's contract workers are employed by human resources companies, which treat them as "second-class" employees - because they don't have the benefits of full-time employees and never have the opportunity to change jobs to safer positions.
