Workers at an apple store in Louisville, Kentucky, are trying to form a union, the fourth apple retail store to announce the establishment of a union This store is a retail store in Oxmoor Central Mall in Louisville. According to Jay hedgspeth, a retail expert behind the Union's activities, employees are organizing because of job burnout, low wages and an increasingly indicator driven culture brought about by the covid-19 pandemic.

"What's happening in the apple store right now is driven by indicators," hedspes told Bloomberg. "It's all about how many people you can connect with and how many people you can provide AppleCare for transactions. It's all about making these performance as high as possible."

According to Bloomberg, about 30% of qualified workers at the oaksmore central store said they were in favor of unionization. This is the legal threshold for holding elections. However, the group said it was waiting until they received the support of at least 70% of its members before applying for a vote.

The apple store in Louisville is the fourth store in the United States to start organizing and forming unions. The first was an apple store in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by a central station store in New York City. Workers at a store in Taosen, Maryland, have also applied to participate in union elections.

Hedspes said there was a lot of activity and discussion about unionization of Apple store workers in online forums. Although retail employees did not disclose the specific stores where they worked in the forum, they were represented in every major sales market in the United States.

An apple spokesman declined to comment on the new union activities, but noted that previous statements mentioned that the company "provided very generous compensation and other benefits for full-time and part-time employees".

In addition to defending its pay and benefits, Apple has also been accused of anti union tactics in one place and is said to have hired labor damaging lawyers from a law firm in San Francisco.
