Kanas Lake is located in the depths of Altai Mountain in the north of Xinjiang, China. It is an alpine freshwater lake with an altitude of nearly 1400 meters. The shape of Kanas Lake is like a curved crescent moon. The average width is about 1.9 kilometers, the total length is about 24 kilometers, the average depth is 120 meters, and the deepest point is nearly 190 meters.
For a long time, local herdsmen have said that there are huge water monsters in the lake.
