Employees working at the apple store in Cumberland mall claimed that the Cupertino technology giant was holding a "captive audience" meeting, a controversial strategy that required workers to attend anti union meetings.

According to the verge, on Tuesday, the American communications workers' Association submitted a report on unfair labor behavior, reporting on Apple's activity. Although the National Labor Relations Commission allowed "captive audience" meetings in the last 24 hours before the election, the Commission recently suggested that these meetings might violate the National Labor Relations Act.

The company had previously distributed anti Union materials to some store managers and hired well-known anti union lawyers to deal with trade union activities in Atlanta. It also posted notes in some retail stores outlining its employee benefits and its commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.

The apple Cumberland mall is one of several locations where Apple retail employees across the United States are organizing unions. Apple employees working at the apple store in New York City's central station are also trying to form unions.

Employees are debating increased compensation, benefits and store hygiene agreements during the pandemic. For its part, Apple has taken steps to improve the compensation and benefits of its retail employees in an effort to retain employees in the increasingly severe labor market.
