This is the second time Google has postponed the release of the phone. The company originally planned to display the phone at the end of last year, but postponed it to this year. Google has been developing foldable smartphones since last year. The panel will be provided by Samsung display and is expected to have a 7.57 inch main screen, a 5.78 inch sub screen and an ultra-thin glass cover.

Samsung display is the only company that can produce foldable OLED panels. It also focuses on providing the panels of the upcoming Galaxy Z fold 4 and Galaxy Z flip 4 for its parent company Samsung Electronics. Samsung Electronics aims to ship about 15 million new mobile phones, more than twice its predecessor's 7.1 million.
