If you use your iPhone to take and save a large number of photos, you are likely to have some duplicate photos in the photo library to form an unnecessary waste of space Fortunately, in IOS 16, apple is making it easier to delete any duplicate photos that occupy useless space on the device

Access:

Apple calls this new feature "duplicate detection". Using machine learning on the device on IOS 16 and MacOS Ventura, the device will now easily detect and summarize all duplicate photos in the user library and display them in the utility section of the photos.

From there, users can easily delete them, free up space on their devices, and organize photo libraries. Since this feature requires the user's device to scan and organize its entire database, it may take some time before the device starts providing duplicate photos for you to delete.

IOS 16 is currently only open to developers, and the public beta is planned to be launched in July. It is reported that IOS 16, ipad OS 16, MacOS Ventura and watchos 9 will all be publicly available this fall.
