According to foreign media reports on May 7, recently, the Monterey Bay Aquarium Institute in California showed a rare high finned arowana (bathophilus flemingi). Known as a treasure of the deep sea, this fish is actually a "sea Predator" with long teeth. It is famous for its hunting technology of waiting for opportunities in the sea to catch unsuspecting prey.

This week, researchers shared a video of the torpedo shaped creature. According to the video, the creature came from 980 feet (about 300 meters) deep in the Bay and was photographed by the undersea exploration remote control vehicle "Doc Ricketts". Lights from the survey car lit up the creature and showed it its shiny, metal like appearance.

This bronze colored creature has aroused people's excitement because of its rarity. "Researchers have observed some different arowanas deep in Monterey Bay, but this is the rarest arowana species we have encountered so far. We have only seen this special species four times in more than three decades of deep-sea research and more than 27600 hours of video," the Institute said

It is understood that the creature is about 6.5 inches long and has a very dark color. In the introduction of arowana, the researchers said that they have the darkest black body known in nature. Previously, in a 2020 study, it was confirmed that the fish has a cool "super black" appearance.
