Some factories of SAIC passenger cars, SAIC General Motors, Xiaopeng automobile, FAW Volkswagen, Tesla and other auto enterprises began to resume double shift production, and some enterprises have achieved full capacity of double shift production.

According to the information of SAIC Group, since May, the group has exported more than 10000 SAIC self owned brand vehicles only at Haitong wharf. It is expected that the overseas sales in May will exceed 70000, with a year-on-year increase of more than 60%. Since May 24, the daily output of Tesla Shanghai plant has recovered to 2600 vehicles, nearly double that of mid May.

The acceleration of the recovery of the production capacity of the automobile factory has driven many automobile parts enterprises to resume production, and the smoothness of the automobile industry chain is getting better.

At present, 21 automobile enterprises that account for more than 90% of the above designated industrial output value of the automobile industry in Pudong New Area have all returned to work. More than 700 Tier-1 and tier-2 suppliers of SAIC General Motors and SAIC passenger cars have returned to work for more than 90%. In Anting, another important automobile town in Shanghai, the top 50 enterprises in the town have all returned to work and production, with more than 25000 people returning to their posts. The overall production capacity of the automobile industry has been restored to 60%.

"The supply chain has improved a lot. Now there is a large demand in the downstream. We are short of manpower. One person can be used by several people." Xiaojun said.

Car enterprises require employees to be versatile in one post in closed production

"On May 19, our company launched a large-scale employee recall. Different from previous batches, first of all, there were a large number of people recalled this time, with about 300 people on the list; second, the way back to the company. Before, the company mainly sent a car to the community to pick up. This time, a group of people can drive back to the company." Xiaojun told the reporter that the downstream demand is increasing day by day, and the colleagues who returned to the factory earlier can no longer afford the production demand.

Xiaojun said that at present, it is still necessary to strictly implement the epidemic prevention regulations when returning to the factory. After returning to the company, it is first necessary to isolate for three days, complete two antigen tests and one nucleic acid test every day, and return to work after three days without any abnormality. Due to the limited area for isolation, the company cannot accept 300 employees to return to the factory at one time. At present, only about 30 employees can be arranged to return to the factory every day, which has affected the efficiency of employee return to a certain extent.

In order to meet the needs of production, most enterprises require employees to have more than one job during the process of returning to work.

SAIC said that the Lingang intelligent factory implemented closed-loop management at the early stage of the outbreak, providing a solid personnel guarantee for the resumption of work and production, but it is not enough to realize the normal operation of double shifts. To this end, the factory fully supports the production operation by adopting the modes of secondment of personnel and second-line personnel sinking into the first line.

"Especially for a group of new employees, we will strengthen training." Liwenbin, workshop production manager of SAIC Lingang intelligent factory, said, "most of the time, the team leader will take advantage of the rest time to carry out one-to-one document training with them, and carry out practical training for the whole vehicle system through the operation method of video simulation, so that the team members can achieve 'one post with multiple abilities'."

Insiders of a joint-venture automobile factory in Shanghai told reporters that now it is not only the workers who can do more than one job, but also the professional engineers who have returned to the factory sometimes have to go to the front line to undertake the production work of skilled workers.

Xiao Jun told the reporter that in addition to his own work related to quality, he also needs to go to the warehouse to manage the warehousing, inventory and delivery. In the past few days, he sometimes went to the warehouse at 8 a.m. and worked until 10 p.m.

Earlier, HR, an auto parts company, told reporters that closed production not only needs to meet the most basic food, housing and epidemic prevention needs of employees, but also needs to pay attention to the psychological health of employees in a long-term closed environment. Insiders of several companies told reporters that in addition to giving employees extra subsidies, the company will also hold collective birthday parties, ball games, hot pot, KTV and other activities to help employees who have been closed for a long time to relieve their psychological pressure.

However, not all companies have spare no effort to organize relevant cultural and recreational activities to guide employees. At present, with the acceleration of the resumption of work and production, the large workload brought by the substantial increase in production demand and the long-term closure have brought great challenges to the mental health of some employees.

Auto industry may return to normal in June

In order to get rid of the impact of the epidemic as soon as possible, automobile enterprises in different regions also exchange and learn from each other. Gao Dawei, production director of FAW Volkswagen Changchun, said that since May, nearly 19000 employees and partners of Changchun production organization have started point-to-point commuting to maximize production. During this period, production records were frequently broken.

From June 1, Shanghai will return to work, production and market in an all-round and orderly way. The missing links in the automotive industry chain will be quickly made up. The resumption of commuting will enable more "new forces" to be put into production.

With the gradual improvement of the national epidemic prevention and control situation, more and more people began to pay attention to the development trend of China's automobile industry after the epidemic.
