Taizhou 35kV flexible low-frequency transmission demonstration project is a national key science and technology project. Its smooth operation will become China's first flexible low-frequency transmission project, which plays a pioneering guiding role in medium and long-distance low-frequency transmission of large-scale offshore wind power.

The project realizes the flexible interconnection between Dachen island and the mainland, and realizes the low-frequency transmission of fans, so as to form an efficient mutual aid between the power grid on the mainland and Dachen Island, improve the problems of large charging reactive power and high loss in the process of wind power transmission through submarine cable, and reduce the waste of wind power resources. It is not only an active scientific and technological exploration and simulation practice, but also an important measure for the construction of Dachen island as a global demonstration window of national new power system.

The project was approved in July 2021 and is planned to be put into operation in June 2022.
