A German court ruled that Ford infringed the wireless technology patent of Japan's IP bridge Inc and banned it from selling and producing cars with internet connection in Germany. According to Reuters, the ruling of the Munich District Court in Germany is not legally binding and Ford can still appeal.

The court said that the plaintiff IP bridge Inc needed to pay a deposit of 227 million euros ($240 million) to make the injunction "temporarily enforced".

Ford pointed out in a statement that the reason for this lawsuit is the license of the necessary patents of LTE network standards. Since we have not received the written opinion of the court, we do not want to comment on this matter at present,

The report pointed out that the ruling reflects the increasingly tense relationship between technology companies, who want automobile manufacturers to pay patent fees for technologies used in navigation systems, vehicle communications and autonomous vehicle to promote autonomous driving.
