Russia Sued Seven Technology Companies Including Google For A Maximum Fine Of 18million Rubles

On May 28, Beijing time, roskomnadzor said on Friday that it had filed administrative lawsuits against Google and six other foreign technology companies, accusing them of violating personal data laws.

Last year, Russia fined Google 3million rubles (US $465400) for failing to store Russian users' personal data in the Russian database. Roskomnadzor said on Friday that a new lawsuit has been filed against Google for repeatedly violating Russian laws, and it may be fined 6million to 18million rubles.

Roskomnadzor said that it also paid tribute to the other six companies, abiying, pinterest, likeme, twitch, Apple And United Parcel Service. These companies may be fined between 1million and 6million rubles for their first offence.
