In an experiment on female mice, excessive stress exposure to screaming was associated with decreased egg numbers. About 6.7 million Americans suffer from infertility, about one in eight couples. There are many possible reasons for infertility. However, a new study suggests that stress may be a factor in infertility.

Other factors that may affect women's fertility:

Age

Improper diet

smoke

Excessive drinking

Sports training

overweight

Underweight

Health problems that cause hormonal changes

According to a small animal study recently published in the journal endocrinology of the endocrine society, female mice exposed to screams may reduce ovarian reserve and fertility.

According to the quantity and quality of eggs, the remaining reproductive potential in a woman's two ovaries is called ovarian reserve. A woman is born with a limited number of eggs, and her body is unable to produce more eggs. The loss of normal reproductive potential of the ovary due to the reduction of the number or quality of remaining eggs is called ovarian reserve dysfunction.

Dr. Xi Wenyan from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University said: "we used the rat scream model to study the effect of pressure on ovarian reserve. The ovarian reserve of female rats exposed to screams decreased and their fertility decreased."

The researchers used a scream model to study the effect of stress on ovarian reserve in female rats. They exposed female rats to screams for three weeks and analyzed the effects on their sex hormones, the number and quality of eggs, and their ability to conceive and have children after mating.

They found that screaming reduced estrogen and anti Muller hormone levels in rats. Estrogen is a hormone group that plays an important role in growth and reproductive development, while anti Muller hormone is a hormone produced by ovary, which assists in the formation of reproductive organs. Screams also reduce the number and quality of women's eggs, resulting in fewer births.

"Based on these findings, we believe that stress may be related to the reduction of ovarian reserve. It is important to determine the relationship between long-term stress and ovarian reserve, because doing so may expand our understanding of the limitations of current clinical interventions and provide valuable insights into the causes of the reduction of ovarian reserve."
