This is the first time that the scientific research ship has carried out the scientific research and test mission in the South China Sea since it entered yazhouwan science and technology city The "North transfer 996" far-reaching sea equipment comprehensive test ship is one of the important contents of the national "12th Five Year Plan" construction project. It is built by Bohai Shipyard Group Co., Ltd. for the 760 Research Institute of China shipbuilding group. It is currently the world's largest tonnage small waterline catamaran in the unlimited navigation area, and firmly sits in the first "coffee" among the same type of scientific research ships.
The ship has a length of 100 meters, a width of 32 meters, a draft of 7.5 meters, a displacement of 6700 tons and a DP1 system. The whole ship adopts quantitative acoustic design and DC networking electric propulsion mode, and is equipped with 10000 meter winch, large A-frame, UAV platform and other test equipment and facilities. It can perform various scientific research and tests, environmental investigation, marine scientific research, comprehensive support and other tasks in the unlimited navigation area except the two poles.
It is reported that thanks to the advanced small waterline catamaran design and huge tonnage, during the test mission, the ship withstood the inspection of the surging waves in the South China Sea. The vertical and horizontal shaking of the hull in the whole test process was no more than 2 degrees, which ensured the smooth layout and recovery of deep-sea scientific research equipment, provided solid software and hardware guarantee for the safe operation and comfortable working and living environment of the personnel on board, and showed the super first-class deep-sea scientific research operation ability.
The relevant person in charge of yazhouwan science and Technology City Administration said that the successful completion of this test marks that the ship has fully possessed the support capacity of deep and high-sea scientific research and test.
