Amd finally made a chip with Zen 3 architecture for more high-end chromebooks. These ryzen 5000 C series products are specially designed for Chrome OS. All CPUs in this lineup are manufactured by 7Nm process and continue to use Vega graphics module.
The top product of this series is the ryzen 7 5825c with eight cores and 16 threads. It has eight GPU cores, with a maximum frequency of 4.5ghz and a maximum boost frequency of 4.6ghz, which is only lower than 4.6ghz of 5700g. Said it was the first chromebook processor with eight high-performance cores.
One level lower than the APU is ryzen 5 5625c, which has 6 cores, 12 threads and 7 GPU cores. The maximum lifting speed is 4.3ghz. There are eight cores of 54rzen, 25yzen and 25yzen. Its maximum frequency is 4.1ghz. Finally, ryzen 3 5125c, with a maximum speed of 3.0GHz, has two cores, four threads and three GPU cores.
Ryzen and Athlon 3000 c-series chips have a maximum speed of 8 cores and 8 threads. They adopt Zen architecture and are positioned as the mainstream choice.
Through the ryzen 5000 C series, amd promises that battery life will be 94% higher than when using < a data link = "1" href = "" target = "_blank" > Intel Chipset. It says machines using these processors can run for 13 hours before they need to be charged. These chips also support multiple displays, up to three < a data link = "1" href = "" target = "_blank" > 4K displays, fast charging, and chromebooks using these chips can wake up from sleep immediately.
The first batch of manufacturers to use the new chips include Acer and HP, which launched chromebook spin 514 and HP elite c645 G2 chromebook respectively.
Acer's latest chromebook is a 14 inch Full HD two in one product that can be equipped with a ryzen 7 5825c processor. PCIe Gen-3 nvme with WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and 256gb < a data link = "1" href = "" target = "_blank" > SSD storage.
Acer said its equipment has military grade MIL-STD 810h durability and 100% sRGB color range. It has a 1080p webcam with shutter, two usb-c Gen-2 ports and optional HDMI interface. The battery can run for 10 hours on a single charge.
Acer chromebook spin 514 (cp514-3h) will be listed in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa in the third quarter, starting at $580 / 749 euros. The enterprise version will also be available in the third quarter, starting at $900 or 849 euros.
HP Elite c645 G2 Chromebook
As for the HP elite c645 G2 chromebook, there are a variety of display options, including a 14 inch 1080p IPS touch screen with a brightness of 250 nits. There is also a non touch 1000 nit highlight panel, which combines low blue light and HP's eye ease technology.
This model can be equipped with 16GB of on-board lpddr4x memory, 512gb of PCIe SSD storage and an optional smart card reader.
