Lisa Pearce, vice president and general manager of Intel visual computing group, just confirmed in a blog post that the release time of arc a series desktop graphics cards was forced to be postponed due to the drag of software and supply chain Earlier, it was rumored that the Intel arc product line was postponed to the middle or late summer of 2022. Now, blue factory has finally confirmed that the software is ready and the arc a series desktop graphics card will come in the late summer of 2022.

In addition to a report yesterday, there have been many rumors in the past few months that there are many problems with Intel arc alchemist GPU driver.

Fortunately, Intel has at least passed the most difficult stage, and the arc a series graphics card has been confirmed to be released from the second quarter of 2022 to the end of the summer.

The representative of the company confirmed in the article that the first batch of arc A3 entry-level desktop graphics cards will come in the second quarter of 2022, but it is limited to system manufacturers and OEMs in the Chinese market.

It is expected that at the end of the second quarter / the beginning of the third quarter, arc graphics cards will be introduced to DIY channels and other markets in the world. This rhythm is very similar to the launch of arc a series mobile GPU in the Korean market.

As for the medium and high-end arc A5 / A7 desktop game graphics card, Intel is scheduled to promote it to the international market through OEM / system integrator later this summer (late July / mid August).

If it is delayed to the third quarter of 2022, the arc desktop product line will arrive at the same time as the workstation SKU, unless Intel decides to postpone the latter to the end of the third quarter / the beginning of the fourth quarter.

The following are two questions answered by Lisa Pearce. The first is "can you introduce the status of Intel arc mobile graphics products?"

We have been working closely with OEM partners to fully launch the product design based on arc mobile GPU. Among them, Samsung has been the first to supply to the Korean market and is expanding to the world.

On this basis, we plan to ensure a wider OEM supply, but we have not prepared the software before, and the supply chain is also dragged down by covid epidemic prevention policy. It was not until this month that OEM designs became more widespread and available.

Despite these restrictions, OEM partners including Samsung, Lenovo, Acer, HP and ASUS have successively released laptops equipped with Intel arc 3 mobile GPU.

We will bring relevant products to the market as soon as possible, and models equipped with Intel arc 5 / 7 mobile GPU will also be available in early summer.

The second is "when will the desktop computer equipped with Intel arc desktop graphics card come?"

Different from the design of notebook computer, desktop system has a large number of combination options, including memory, motherboard, CPU and other categories. Therefore, in the initial stage, we will cooperate with system integrators / OEMs with specific configurations.

From the second quarter, the Chinese market will first usher in a series of products equipped with arc 3 entry-level desktop graphics cards. Under the strong demand, retail channels will follow. In the next step, we plan to promote it all over the world.

The medium and high-end arc A5 / A7 desktop game graphics card will be launched globally with the products of OEM / system integrator later this summer, and then it will be supplied to the global DIY retail channel.

Such an arrangement can make us confident in every step to serve our customer base efficiently.

To sum up: from the beginning, the supply chain delay / driver software problem caused a lot of trouble to Intel. However, if this situation continues, Intel may lose the support of potential board manufacturers, which will further delay the launch of arc graphics cards.

Interested friends, please pay attention to Intel's vision conference in these two days (Intel vision More information disclosure on event 2022). If all goes well, we are expected to know the exact GPU specifications and pricing during Computex 2022 at the end of this month.
