Although many sustainable buildings are emerging, a building in Denver has raised its ecological awareness to a new level. It is designed by mad architects, a team based in Beijing, China, and is called "one river north". This is the fourth American project announced by mad and the second American residential design to be completed.

"Vertical Canyon" is a 16 story building with 187 residential units and more than 13000 square feet of open air. The effect picture shows that the building is covered with a large number of green plants, a luminous brook and a long walkway. This landscaped walkway winds through several floors to a green roof terrace with a garden, spa and swimming pool. On the ground floor, the building will have approximately 8000 square feet of retail space.
It is reported that the project has been started in the autumn of 2021 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
